NCS Colour has a number of different types of partner. These can take the form of our licencees who use the power of the Natural Colour System®© to secure the use of colour and colour communication in their own products and services. Or they can act as agents and distributors in local regions. Other partners offer a more comprehensive service, stocking complete ranges of NCS products. All of our partners however strive to give you the best possible colour service holding true to our core values of saving you time, money and effort.
Why Licencing?
The Natural Colour System®© took over 100 man-years of scientific colour research to develop. It is now used on a daily basis by more than millions specifiers and facilitates an accurate and efficient colour communication globally. One of the system’s strengths lies in the fact that the colour quality is properly secured by NCS Colour. This is made via hundreds of hours of quality checking carried out annually by the NCS Quality Centre. To make NCS available to all at this high level of quality we have developed a licence concept for those wishing to use NCS for a commercial purpose.
An International Network
There are over 1500 companies across the world with an NCS Licence, our NCS Partners -companies and individuals authorised to supply you their own products based on NCS. They use NCS in a variety of different ways to add credence to their business. Each NCS Partner has a unique story to tell about how NCS has helped to improve their colour communications process. Read some of their stories here.
Each partner is also listed on our database called NCS Partner Search, which helps our many specifiers to find reliable and professional partners. As our independent research shows, when you begin to use NCS you rarely turn to any other system – so most specifiers opt to work with NCS Partners.

Become An NCS Partner
NCS Colour grants licences to all sizes of business and bases the agreement and price on the type of business, size of company and target markets with adjustments made accordingly. Under normal conditions we will enter an agreement with all prospective new licencees. In certain cases a licence may not be required, for example where NCS is used for literature or R&D purposes.
Further Details
The NCS Licence is an annual agreement for which a royalty is payable, based on a published scale of charges. This will vary according to the use of the NCS system e.g. to the number of countries and the annual turnover. It is the primary policy of NCS Colour to grant licences of right for the lawful use of the NCS system on reasonable terms and conditions.
We will gladly inform you of whether a licence is needed and what it includes, and we can also produce a complete contract proposal for your approval. Under normal conditions we are prepared to enter into agreement with all customers. We assume that any use of the NCS system is made in good faith and a licence agreement, if the relevant use is at all capable of being covered by a licence agreement under NCS Colour policies, will of course cover any such use brought to our attention.
As accurcy and consistency are the core values for NCS, values to which we accept no compromise, NCS Colour AB requires the same attention to detail from its Licencees and is therefore happy to take over the quality checking for any customer and always reserves the right to check and report any poor quality.
